The Invisalign® Process

At Village Orthodontics in Winnipeg, we will work with you throughout the Invisalign process to help you achieve a straighter smile.

Step 1, Winnipeg Orthodontist

Step 1
Begin With An Invisalign Appointment

During your initial appointment, your orthodontist will assess your teeth and gums to determine if Invisalign is right for you. The appointment will include an examination, x-rays and digital impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create a 3D image of your mouth.

Step 2, Village Orthodontics

Step 2
Get A Customized Treatment Plan

Based on your appointment, your orthodontist will create an Invisalign treatment plan just for you. It will outline the approximate length of your treatment, and your orthondontist can show you what to expect your smile to look like after treatment with digital images. These images will also be used to create your custom aligners.

Step 3, Village Orthodontics

Step 3
Start Your Invisalign Treatment

During your Invisalign treatment, you will wear your clear aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day. The best part? You can remove them to eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth giving you flexibility and causing minimal disruption to your daily routines.

Step 4, Village Orthodontics

Step 4
Change Your Aligners Every Two Weeks

As the aligners gradually shift your teeth into place, you will switch to the next set in your series, usually about every two weeks. You will also have checkups with your orthodontist every four to six weeks to touch base on your progress, but there's no need for regular adjustments like with traditional metal braces.

Step 5, Village Orthodontics

Step 5
Maintain & Enjoy Your New Smile

It's an exciting day when you finish your Invisalign treatment! At your final appointment, your orthodontist will discuss next steps with you, and likely prescribe a retainer to help keep your teeth in their new positions.
